Spinning by Tillie Walden
Spinning is a memoir by Tillie Walden that talks about how her relationship to competitive figure skating changed over the course of her youth. I've read most of her work at this point. This one's a whirlwind of different emotions.
Unlike some of her other books, like On A Sunbeam and Are You Listening?, the art in Spinning feels a bit more tame. Maybe that's just a limitation of the way she decided to approach the story. At the same time it feels a lot more pensive than some of her more fantastical work so I think it works well.
It'd feel a bit silly to say that I recommend this. Of course I do. I've enjoyed every book I've read by Tillie Walden.
